I just ordered my fish from live aquaria. I got a bicolor blenny, a flame angel, a couple of occelaris clowns, a bangai cardinal and a fire fish. + my two chromis. Should be a pretty interesting group. I figure the flame might nip at coral a little but I think it's worth it. I'm buying more live rock tomorrow to give them some more hiding place when they get here tuesday

I hope everything does well for you! I might be a little concerned about adding that many fish at once.

Yeah I thought about that. I added some more lr though so there would be more hiding places. Hopefully the biology won't be to much at once

Thanks! I was very pleased with live aquaria. He instantly took over the tank but he isn't picking at coral so that was a relief.

I woke up this morning and the dotty back was dead under a rock. His tail was torn to pieces so I guess it was the flame angel.

I had the same thing happen to me but it was the clowns that did it. They also took down an anthias. They can be very aggressive especially if they are paired

I was really surprised it was them and really bummed! A friend of mine who has been reneging for years and works at my lfs said it can happen when they are planning in mating. Hopefully not the case with yours though!

I already have a thread on this but I figured I would say something about it here.. I'm worried the flame angel may have ich. I cant tell though because one spot looks like it's barely hanging on if that makes since. But is has spots behind its fins next to its gills

Update on the tank everything is going great! My parameters are good (0 nitrates no phosphate ect.) the flame angels spot have popped, I know it sounds wierd, and now he's fat and healthy. All the fish are healthy so I'm going to assume this will be the livestock for some time: flame angel, bangai cardinal, fish fish, chromis, and two clowns:) im going to be adding more lps since the soft corals have had some serious growth since it's been set up and im seeing crazy polyp extension. I'm also going to add sand in couple of week I just wanted to get everything steady first beforehand because it will add on t g e detritus and can increase nitrates. I also plan on upgrading my sump to a 20 gallon long with a refugium with mangroves. In sure ill end up doing mangroves since I've always wanted about 4 of them and a safe place for any misfits. Oh and im also going to get a canopy. All these things will happen within a few week ls so I'm planning on having some good updates and ill get a better camera to post some nice pics because so far it's looking better than I thought it would. Stay alert for new post! I also thought I would share how I feed my fish algae. All of my fish absolutely love the thin algae that grows on the glass. When I scrape it off in sheet ls everyone on them act like it's a normal feeding time so I leave different places on the side panels alone when I'm using the mag float so I can scrape it off later to feed them. I figyre it's a good way to increase the range of there diet.

Sorry for the typos, I can't edit the post for some reason, but I meant fire fish. And there's a lot more...

Bought green Monti and a gorgonian today. The camera doesn't show near as much color as there is

Everything is coming along great with lots of growth especially from the gorgonian. I'm finaly starting to see some purple coraline algae growth along the bottom of the tank as well

I decided to buy aqua vitro eight.four to handle my alkalinity and pH. I noticed I was started to get a lot more algae on the glass lately which was becoming a pain to scrape off so im gonna blame it on a low pH and kh.
