A.R.M. media sizes?

I'm a bit confused on the CaribSea A.R.M. calcium reactor media sizes.

On marinedepot.com, it only has "original" and "coarse". Wasn't the original one the "small" or "fine" one? Anways, regardless, the picture it shows for original is obviously large, and it states 2-3mm. It has no size description for coarse.

On BRS.com, it has all three.... small, large, and "extra coarse". But the description for both Large and Extra Coarse states 2-3mm.

So I guess my question is... if large is 2-3mm, what is the coarse/extra coarse?

Hey Peter. I've used all the various sized Aragonite medias, and prefer the biggest ones. Tropic Eden has a bag of what looks like coral skeleton, for example. Caribsea's larger version is like little nuggets, and works well. Extra coarse is going to be as much as 1/2" in diameter.

Yeah, I really like using large media in my reactor...lets me be careless... err, I mean, daring, and drop the pH pretty low :bigsmile:

So the large is only 2-3mm then? I was thinking it was a bit larger. I will go with the coarse, then.

I doubt it, Peter. You should make some phone calls. I'm guessing someone did a copy & paste job there that is inaccurate.
