Mine jumped tremendously this past month from $220 to $370. My a/c has been running like crazy I think due to humidity in the house from my 180g reef. I put the glass lids back on the tank to see if anything changes

Well, I never had problems there because I pay for every utility at home, but yes, Electricity is probably one of the main factors that made me take down my 750G aquarium...

I have friends that pay that much for their mortgages!!!

Well, Mine used to have three MH pendants with 4 T5's on the side... the equipment alone occupied a single car garage (Not to mention the sump used to run on two huge pumps), also had quarantine tanks and a 90G propagation tank (these last two also had their own sumps and lighting).

Yep. I'm running halides and my dolphin return is a 1.3 amp pump. I changed my skimmer over to a dc pump to try and help

Without panels or tank- bill was $240...then came panels- bill was $100, then came the little reef- bill then was $300... that equals- I pay electric bill always now....

Mine runs 400 easy. I have 7 tanks and 2 large reptile habitats. And, yea I give my son a hard time when he leave his light on.....lol

My reef tank is just a small part of our electric bill. 7 tons of A/C, pond aerator, compressor, pool pump for koi pond, shop building and it goes on from there. Lol!
