I am considering this light for my new tank. It’s a nyos opus 300. I was originally going to do 2 smaller lights but since this light is similar to xr 30 I was wondering if this light would be bough for this tank. I plan on keeping mostly lps but adding some sps in the future. Thanks.

The XR30 has a light spread of 36x24". If the A8 is similar to the XR, you may be ok. Keep in mind though that the edges will be pretty low PAR. I think it would work well for a LPS tank. If down the line you don't think the coverage is good, you can add some bars or an additional A8

Would a 3d printed shade on the light help or hurt in this situation
