Ordered an Avast K1 today, I have never tried kalk dosing so wanted to see if I can keep my ph up by dripping kalk all day. I am trying to calculate my daily top off and will try to run the kalk at 80% of evaporation rate.
Right now my ph is 8.0-8.2 trying to hit 8.4-8.5

keeping the house sealed up all day in Texas I am sure the co2 is high

I have it set up on a Kamoer F4 doser which I actually really like except its a bit noisy but since I does about 2 ml per bottle each day its not that bad.

Been working on the fish room (t is not a legit fish room as there is no tank in it (yet)). Eventually I plan to have a 72X24X13 frag tank where the table is.

the bottom shot is wide angle which makes the room look very narrow.

So I got my 2nd Versa dosing pump in today to dose Kalk.
I am going to set this up different than I have seen but am sure others have done this. Instead of running it through my top off I calculated my evaporation rate on my tank at 3 gallons per day. I am going to run the Versa at a constant speed at about 2.5 gallons per day and let the top off function normally for the last .5 gallons. I put the Versa on an outlet controlled by the Apex so that I can have it shut off that outlet if the sump level gets beyond a certain height or the PH in the tank is greater than 8.5
Now I just need for UPS to deliver the rest of the equipment from BRS to finish the kalk system. It was supposed to be delivered Saturday then was rescheduled for today but still shows in transit ;Facepalm way to go UPS.

So first 24 hours with the kalk reactor is a success, I had to make some adjustments to the calcium reactor rates but only had a minor increase in dkh (.4).
My Ph has been steadily improving and is now 8.35, high yesterday before kalk was 8.2.

I really like the shaggy tenuis’s. Would love to find a true red tenuis, I have seen convincing videos of them but never in person.
Maybe I have to ask the tenuis experts like @Chaswood79
