I myself got in this hobby, and jumped right in the forums. I was having trouble understanding a few members due to abbreviations and other terms at first until a few kind words from local reefers.

I still don't know what FTS is??? lol

but I plan on posting a few that I know of to help any new members to r2r. be sure to chime in and add your own. =]

CUC=clean up crew
WTB=want to buy
WTS=want to sell
WTT=want to trade

GPH=gallons per hour
LPS=large polyp stony
SPS=small polyp stony
NPS=non-photosynthetic
WC=water change
RO/DI= reverse osmosis deionizer (water filter)

:wink: I guess they fixed the percentage sign. There was a big thread like this a month or two ago that had all the abbreviations. Do a search on it, I'm sure it will come up. When I was new, I was like what the heck? I thought everyone was speaking in code, lol.
 
lol, I like this thread! there is always abbreviations that I dont know what the **** they mean
what I dont understand is when somone postes 100&37 or something like that
I think thats when they put 100 percent but thats how it come out
 
over the past 4 or 5 years ive had aquariums and finally found out yesterday what WYSIWYG meant...What You See Is What You Get,
 
lol darn I was trying to be a step ahead, and finally earn myself a sticky.. ahh shucks and yea lol I guess they did fix it..
