So I'm about to place my order for my new tank. Any last minute input?

36" x 20" x 20" Leemar Tank
Starphire Glass - 3 Viewable Sides
Black Back
Black Silicon
Center overflow with hole for 1.5" bulkhead. Overflow = 8" long x 5" tall x 3" front to back
2 Holes for 1/2" bulkhead 2.5" from Top and 2.5" from each side on the back for return
32" Tall Black Stand
LeeMar
Flat Top
28.5" clearance for Sump

my input is that you should order two, and ship one to me...Sounds like a great tank. Nice dimentions.

Instead of one 1.5" bulkhead I would do two 1". One for emergency, put a ball valve on one and that will make it silent :)

Similar to my 40B. That's how mine is. So quiet!

I would go at least 24" deep(front to back):wink:JMO.Much more room for your acans too:bigsmile:

+1 or even 2 1.5"

You want two

I agree or even 40" :)

Aaah, you guys! 2 x 1" overflow is a great idea. I dunno about 24" ftb not sure my new LED's will be able to cover that much.

What LED's are you going with?I hear most LED fixtures cover 24x24 pretty good and would be just fine for some lps on the SB.

I ordered 2 of the LED's from luke33. I put one over my 40g for the time being and it's a pretty impressive fixture for the price.

I suppose I'd only have to raise it an extra inch or two to cover the additional 4"...

Acans and other LPS love lower light so you could fill in the outer edges with lower light corals. The extra depth (front to back) will be a nice thing to have if you have the space in the house....I agree with above on overflow holes as well. Gotta have a backup.

4-6" above the tank and you'll cover 24x24" just fine. You have two man, you have gobs of room! Go for the extra 4"!

I love my LeeMar tank. Its a 60"x18"x23" 100 gallon reef ready with a custom offset center overflow. The glass is diamond edge with black silicone and I had them drill 5 holes for the overflow, return, and 3 for the closed loop. I painted the blcak background myself and am still happy with the tank after almost 7 years.

If the overflow box has teeth (relatively small) and there's a cover on the overflow one 1.5" drain is fine. Nothing will be able to fit through the teeth that can clog 1.5" PVC.

This is mine (oveflow cover on in first pic, off in second):

Well, EVERYTHING has been ordered....

Tank from LeeMar...4-5 week wait
75lbs from MarcoRocks
Sump from John @ Advance Acrylics
ReefKeeper Elite w/ Net..
Got my 2 LED's from Luke33

Good to go! Now I just gotta be patient!

that should be a very nice tank, what are you going to run for a skimmer?what kind of reef will the tank be,softy, mixed, lps, sps?

I'm going to start off with an SWC 120 that I currently own and will probably upgrade to a 160 not far down the road.

I'm planning a mixed reef focusing on SPS and acans with a little bit of everything else to fill it in.

Internal over flow or external? If you have the extra space, going with external overflow will also give you some extra space and versatility for aquascaping...not to mention cleaner look.
