I am in the process of selecting my lighting for my system. I have a 55g standard tank, I plan on upgrading to a 90g in the future but I want to get my equipment first. I have been studying about LEDs and trying to choose a good fixture at a reasonable price. I know that reef tanks are not cheap, but I know there are options. I plan on having a mixed reef, with softies, lps and sps corals. I have been leaning toward getting the Reefbreeders Phonton 48 fixture. Has anyone had any experience with this system? Are they as good as I have read about? I live in a remote part of the country and can't see them in person, so I need some advice.
Thanks
Zgetman.

I have heard many great things about those lights and for the price I am considering purchasing them for my next tank as well.

Is there anyone one here that has had experience with the Photon LED lights? I could really use some feedback on them.

Chinesee Imports work but often leave you with a bunch of stress when a bank of LEDs fail.

Check out DIY as you can choose the best parts and LED Bins to easilly have a better light with only a couple hours of assembly.

This gives you the advantage as you know your light and later if a driver failes you can easilly replace it.

Chinese fixture or not. They are backed by a 2 year warranty, and the reef breeders company is in the USA. I am not buying just another Chinese fixture.

I have two photon 48s and love them. No issues for almost 2 years. I can grow anything and sps are thriving.

Thanks! I also attribute tank health to stability and use of a calcium reactor and controller.
