Feeding can help promote growth. And they'll grow out onto pretty much anything from my experience. Will feeding promote growth? Also will i need to provide extra rock for it to grow onto
Hi mate my acan has been sulking its in low flow and low light i have a reefpro900 and a tmc luminare. Would you suggest moving up slighty? Also would high nitrates at 50ppm be causing it to sulk the guy in the shop said it shouldnt affect it thanks inadvance!Sounds about right, you can feed them, but it's not required.
Why the low salinity? Don't you want it closer to 1.026?This is more of where you should be. What brand of salt are you using? And what test kir did you use to get those values?
Sg - 1.023
Mg- between 1250 - 1300
Ca- 420

Yeah the only reason i moved in the first place was cus my crab decided it was a interesting new thing to pick at. Then i think i upset it morePersonally I would not start lowering your salinity. Keep things stable with your current salinity, 1.025-26 is perfectly fine. You lower salinity then you lower other things then you start chasing numbers. For your acans, I would keep them in a spot of low to medium light and low to moderate indirect flow. I like to feed our acans but for now I'd just let the coral acclimate to your tank and lighting. Constant intervention will cause more issues IME.
I feed my acan garden Reef Gumbo and some mysis and think it helps them develop color and grow quicker. And, just remember, that whatever plug they are on/rock they are near will tend to shape their growth. I generally place mine on a flat rock so they spread out more.I moved the acan up slighty it seems more happy than before
