How does one gauge how happy an acan is? I added a nice looking piece yesterday and would love some more info. Knowledge dump, please! I can see the feeder tentacles poking out, the polyps are nicely plumped and it eats quickly.

Looks happy to me. Puffed up, colorful, healthy mouth and feeders. If its unhappy, it will deflate, shrink up, and even show its skeleton.
Keep feeding it, they can eat a lot
Noted. I think watching it eat is pretty fun because it just devours whatever it snags. How do they grow new heads? My Duncan just seems to sprout new heads like crazy!

They come from the bottom out. Started with 4 and now I lost count

Yeah looks good to me! They will be puffy when happy. Don’t be scared if some polyps shrink and have a brown string coming out of its mouth. That is just the Acan taking a poop! I found this out the hard way lol
Ultra Acan Lord question here... When an acan poops, do all the heads on the same colony poop together at the same time? If not, then I have an issue!
