Hi everyone. My acans have not puffed up for 5-6 days that I can tell. Their color is still fine but they're flat as pancakes. This is what they look like puffed up

This is what they've looked like lately

They haven't faded at all but I'm worried about them. Ca 500 , Kh 8.5, mg c. 1300, nitrates less than 10, temp stable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've had them about 3-4 weeks and I haven't seen them puff up in about a week.

I fed them fish food, the small pellet type. They gobbled it up but now I'm wondering if that was a bad move.

You are only running your main lights at 25%. How long are you running them? Have you tried feeding?

Oh I meant the percentage of light that's actinic blue, as in three out of the four bulbs. The other one is white. Sorry if I used the term wrong.

No but I can. I thought it might be current. It's a nano so there's not much I can do to change the lighting.

What are you thinking? Not enough light? Too much?

They love oyster eggs.

Where do you have them placed? I had issues with them not opening when I had my 5 gallon I just moved them down to lower lighting.

They're close to the bottom of the tank. The only way to lessen the light would be to put them in a shadow.

How much flow are the getting that might be a problem also. From my experience with them they don't like a lot of flow on them. That's what I noticed with ones that I have.

I've found that they are all different. I have some that live the love and others not so much. Try moving them with a oil different flow n lighting n see what happens. I feed mine limpets or rods reef, along with oyster feast and phyto feast.
