2 clown fish, emerald crab(hides most of day), various snails. Been established 8 months. Feed mysis shrimp once a day do direct spot feeding of reed roid M,W,F

They didn’t look good coming out of box yesterday and still don’t these are my first Acros so don’t know if normal. I even added a light over them to help with need for higher light needs and they are pretty much in front of my power head

Salinity is little low.
thing with acros/sps, they don’t like any sudden changes. If you raise salinity, do it over a couple weeks. You can provide too much flow depending on how close it is to the Nero

good luck!

It’s blowing kind of right above it and it’s probably 5 inches from it I don’t blast it though. The highest it gets is 30%

Wow, you got those yesterday and they haven't out grown your tank yet? What are you doing wrong? It can take months for new corals to settle in, just depends on the coral. Like everything else in this hobby, give it time.

Yea I get that just wanted to make sure it’s normal for them to look that way from shipping or if I should be concerned they were on their way out

Yea I know was just razzing you. Some look fine after shipping and as soon as you take them out of the box and start floating them in your aquarium their polyps are out. Some take days/weeks to do the same-time will tell. What I will say is LEAVE THEM ALONE and give time a chance to work.

They look okay, it just takes time to acclimate to your system.
Random flow is good and be careful with the reef roids they can pollute your system pretty fast.
They have to acclimate to your lights as well so start at the bottom and move them up little by little.
Salinity is low but not a big deal just bring it up a little bit slowly.

They were on the bottom for 2 days and I do have my Nero on random hopefully they just need to settle in

Ok good, I'm sure that's all they need is to settle in.
I generally start any new Coral at the bottom and throughout the week I will raise them little by little.
If you bought them from a person and have similar lighting it's fine to start Midway but when they've been in a box in the dark for a while you have to take your time with them.

Everytime I've bought acropora corals I am always disappointed with the colors they show in my tank..at first. Overtime they should start to display better colors. As long as they are not losing flesh then they will probably be okay.

I have a refractometer. I work at a veterinarian clinic
If it's calibrated correctly (with a salt standard), and the salinity is really that low, I I think you'll have problems. Salinity doesn't need to be perfect, but I don't think 1.021 is close enough to reef parameters.

They look about the same,
curious did you check your phosphate?
Sometimes no change is better than a bad one. A good change will not happen quick.

And on your next purchase, try buying in person . It's more satisfying buying a nice looking one, than getting possibly brown frags shipped to you.
