Acro plating out like a cap?

So I have this acro that has completely encrusted but where the rock drops off the base is starting to plate out like a cap. Any ideas maybe why never had one do this before?

It's pretty common for the base to plate out like. I have one acro doing the same thing because there is no where to encrust. Eventually it will shoot up branches like the rest of the colony.

Haa! It is just weird that it has rock to continue on with the rock just slopes down down. I hope it does start shooting up it has been basing for almost a darned year! Thanks!

Do u ink u might have a under current? Or to mcuh so it's causing it to plate?

Wen my SBSC was only encrusting and not growing up I broke the frag off and put it back on a plag and the encrusted part I left on the rock. Within a month I could see it starting to grow up and not encrusting as much
