Hello, I'm not good at recognizing IDs of acropora. Do you know what species is this acropora? If it's impossible to guess, can you specify what are the requirements of this type of acro?

Wow, that would be great! Does your coral has this noticeable orange tint? Because on my frag this orange is barely noticeable.

Understand. Corallite structure of this frags is very simlar so it may be similar species or even the same. I've seen the thread in r2r about bc blood bank and the frags in varius tanks look very diffrent. I have to work under coloration because all my acros are greenish:grinning-squinting-face::grinning-squinting-face:.

My turn, I am new to acro and have been able to color up some very brown acro, I don't need the exact name, just the type of acro. Any help would be appreciated . It's not fully colored up yet. This is under t5 4 b+1aqua blue special and 1 true actinic

1) you should probably start your own thread to get more people to see it.
2) it's probably a little too early to get an ID in this guy. You may have to wait until it grows out a little bit. My first thought is tri-color valita, but it won't be sure until it grows out with some.

You'll need to have more growth from the new branches to get a definite ID. Acropora secale will sometimes turn into big blobs like this prior to producing new branches, though.

I had what I think is the same thing as the brown blob in the last pic. It turned into a very unique piece which I could never I’d. Don’t give up on it though, once it’s a mini colony it should pick up growth.

Thank you, it is growing, I need patience I guess, it was so brown when I got it. Paid 10.oo and when it started to show color It gave some confidence in my reef keeping.

I know this thread is getting a little bit messy but i found this old photo(made about 7 months ago) when I got this frag. It had red-brown polyps which can be characteristic for some species. Does it help recognize?
