Here is a behind the scenes look at some of the coral spawning work we have been doing this year. I am super proud of this an honored to be part of the effort.

They do sometimes. Mostly they don't self fertilize so unless you have different genotypes of the same coral, the spawning doesn't accomplish much.well why don't corals in our tanks sporn then
Hi David,Great work and a nice video
Are you releasing any article or more information about this project? We've been following Jamie Craggs work here in Europe and it's amazing to see what can be done. I hope we will try some similar project in the future(I work at a small public aquaria in Sweden).
So far I've only observed eggs in a branch of Acropora staghorn in one of our tanks. It probably spawned when we weren't here.
Keep us posted!

And great job with the video and editing! I particularly dug the planula on the finger.
What Autodesk product did you use, or are they a donor?
Which? There isn't a shot of motile sperm, so I want to know what looks like that! Thanks!Wow. Congratulations! That shot of the motile sperm in the pyrex cup is so cool!
