Well, last tank I finally had enough of. No matter how much I tried to keep clean, I could not drop the No3 below 80ppm for more than a few days. Lord knows I tried for about a year or so. I had a good 5 years of it. All the coral except for a few pieces and the fish went to my LFS for store credit. Got new live sand, some Dr. Tim's One and Only and a bucket of salt and kept the rest of the credit on file until needed, been dealing with this LFS for years so no issues with the credit. Bleached and rinsed the rocks last week and filled the tank after thoroughly cleaning the tank, sump and skimmer. Right now the 2 Clowns, Yellow Goby, cuc and corals are hanging out in a 10g for a few weeks.

So here we go again.....
List of equipment consists of:

Aquarium: Tetra 40br drilled with Eshopps Eclipse S Overflow
AutoTopOff: Neptune Apex ATK
Controller: Neptune Apex Wi-Fi Controller, PMK and WXM for Ecotech
Dosing: 2 Bulk Reef Supply Doser 1.1ml
Heater: Eheim Jager Heater x2 - 150w and 100w
Lighting: Maxspect RazorX R5-150 with ICV6
Powerhead: EcoTech Vortech MP40 QD and Tunze 6040, with EcoTech Battery Backup
Powerhead Return: Ecotech Vectra S2 Reactor: PaxBellum Arid n18 Chaeto Reactor
Skimmer: Somatic 60S, Vertex
Sump: Somatic 60S, Vertex

So the Sicce return pump stopped working on me. Emailed Sicce yesterday and waiting on a response. Should be under warranty as I bought it in 2017. So in its place I bought a Ecotech Vectra S2 running at 52%. I’ll just use the Sicce as a backup when it gets fixed or replaced.

How do you like the Maxspect light fixture? I’m starting a 40b build soon and I am torn between T5, Maxspect Razor 150w, and the Maxspect Jump lights. I will mostly be doing softies and a few LPS.

T5s you can never go wrong with. A 6 bulb combo setup will grown anything with the right bulb combo.
The Maxspect Jumps, don’t know much about them other than you’ll need/want 2 of them for the spread.
The Maxspect RazorX is imo the happy medium. Produces more UV than Radions and AI, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and will absolutely grown SPS and LPS. My old Hammer, Duncan and Acans used to blow up under the light.

Pics of my last setup before starting over.

Thanks for the info and pics. I have watched a lot of videos commenting on the excellent spectrum of that fixture. It’s running on sale for $500 right now making it an attractive option.

Here’s a little write up when I first received it as I was the first one in the U.S. to get one.

Nothing to report. Tank has been taken down for some time while I’ve made the move back to S Florida. Once the craziness wears off I’ll be starting up another.

Looking forward to seeing the new tank!
