Add another fish or just keep what I got?

I have a 40 breeder with 4 fish. A melanurus wrasse, ocellaris clownfish, banggai cardinalfish, and royal gramma. Ive tried twice to add a red firefish, and both times the royal gramma chased them so much, they end up jumping out of the tank, and I find them when I get home. After the first time I added a top on the tank, but somehow the second found his way out through the little holes. So I dunno if I should try to add any more fish to the tank, or just be happy with what I have. Everyone now gets along fine, and I know I dont wanna risk another firefish. Not sure what else to try, or just leave it be?

I would try to pair the clown.

A firefish is not a match for a Royal gramma, I would add a bigger fish, one that will standup for itself.

maybe a blenny? And you could try to put the bully in an acclimation box for a bit if you add another fish. Rearranging rock work helps sometimes too.

Definitely pair off the Ocellaris, maybe a designer ocellaris so they are different looking. I think clown pairs are a lot of fun to watch that you don’t always get with a single clown.

I would love to have a gold stripe maroon clown, but Im afraid it would kill the one I have already. The one I have is pretty small, maybe an inch at most.

Gold stripes are great looking but I would hold off on trying to pair anything that isn’t the same species, can be tricky. Not sure I’ve ever heard of anyone pairing a maroon with an ocellaris.
