Hi there,
In a month or so I want to add a Tang or 2. I have a 90 gallon reef and a 45 gallon reef tank.
Here is what I have in the 90 gallon tank:
1 Chromdamasel
1 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Watchman Goby
1 Striped Blenny
2 Blue Devil Damsels
2 Cardinal's
1 Skunk Shrimp
1 Blood Shrimp
Anemone's
Sponges
Corals LSP'S
Here is what I have in the 45 gallon tank:
1 Filefish
1 Yellow Damsel
2 Picasso Clownfish
2 Blue Devil Damsels
1 Pink and black cucumber
Anemone's
Corals LSP'S
I welcome any suggestions on what type of Tang's to add and any suggestions for other fish.
I would like Yellow Tang, Blue Hippo Tang, Kole Yellow Eye Tang, sand shifting Goby, Mandarin fish.
Thank you,
Cathi

I have found
Blue Hippo Tang: Prone to ich and velvet
Kole Yellow Eye Tang: Can be very aggressive and kill other fish when full grown.

Hi Cathi
I would wait until a larger tank before trying a blue hippo tang .
IME if you see them . Juv yellow belly blue tangs seam to be hardier compared to blue hippo tangs .
yellow tangs can be aggressive but very nice if no other tangs are in the system .
issue being they are very pricy compared to a few years ago but one of the must have in my tanks .
Purple tangs are nice but again can be very aggressive.

Mandarins are very nice and will do well in either the 45 or the 90 as long as you have tons of rocks , and a sump with somewhere for pods to reproduce .
I have found the green spotted mandarins easier to care for

another must have fish for me is a lawnmower blenny

Go with Biota for the blue and yellow tang. Captive bred are hardy, resilient and come in healthy. My experience with buying blue tangs online has not been great. Granted this was a few years ago but it was hard to get them healthy and eating well. My biota fish came in strong and healthy. They were out swimming well and even eating food well the first day.
