Adding “live” coral skeleton to scape

A friend collected these for me while snorkelling. Would it be safe to dip in iodine before adding to my scape or would it cause massive die off within the skeleton? I’m worried about introducing pests to my sps tank

Separate tank and observe. Watch for pests and add imo.

Thanks for the input, its not a lot so I've been monitoring it closely for pests, so far quite a few barnacles, feather dusters, sponges and a scallop of sorts. Should be good to go
