So I dont know if this was the best idea, but I ordered an RFA and was just wondering if adding it to my tank is gonna go really wrong? I have quite a few softies and lps in the tank already and I know the anenomes like to move. I did hear that once they settle in they tend to stay put. Has anyone else, guilty of compulsive anemone buying had any luck with them not stinging up the place?

Mostly they arrive really tiny and will tend to find a spot and just stay there. Never had stinging issue with any of mine. Biggest challenge is keeping them out of the power heads before they settle.

It will be small and wont effect anything unless they get chopped up in a power head as stated above.

3 years, I have 7 in a fully loaded 65g
They love small depressions on near vertical rock faced....I have one stuck to the shell of one of my clams...no problems....set them and forget them.
One of the 7 travels monthly and had not caused anyproblems

if you look real close at the tail of the orange Anthais, you’ll see one RF on the shell.

All the advise above is pretty correct. I have about 8. Mild stings and very good neighbors to most corals. Some nems never move from where I placed them and others move once a week. I wouldn't feed them anything big, I can't imagine feeding it a silverside or anything. Daphnia and Baby Brine are the food that give the biggest feeding response.

Then if you want to place them on the rock later........here is how you get them out

Agree with @mta_morrow about the PVC end caps. The only reason not to use them is if they are incredibly small like the four I just got.

When I introduce them I put them in a container with some small pieces of rock rubble or in the end caps for 15-30 minutes. The will usually be attached by then. I then place them up against the base of a rock on the sand bed. The like to attach in the sand bed at the base of rocks and rarely move at all. They are a great addition to a reef tank. Easy to keep, colorful and fun to watch as they feed.

Here's a video of some of my older larger (my largest is about 6" across) RFA's during a spawning event.
