I am in the process of building a 75g saltwater with a diy 40b sump. I dabbled in saltwater back in 2000 when I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Currently I have 6 freshwater planted tanks running. I have been lucky and selling off my over crowded cherry shrimp to local fish stores for store credit towards my project. I plan to build a negative scape mixed reef tank.
I drilled the tank for an eshops overflow; currently: painting back, building stand and working my sump design.
the one part I haven’t decided on is lights. They sure have gone up since my days of power compact lighting. Input here would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking at sbreef lights and AI hydra 32s.
if there any reef folks around Elizabeth, Colorado that wants to impart some wisdom, feel free to drop me a line.
thanks,
shane
