I’ve had a Japanese swallowtail angelfish for a year and it has done very well. I recently bought 2 more, they are in the tank in a “peacekeeper”. The one i have is showing a lot of aggression. This is the 2nd day. The new pair are in there together and are not aggressive towards each other. I really want to try to keep the three. Does anyone have any ideas? I thought about putting the larger one in the sump for a week or so and release the pair, but if I put the larger one back in and he is aggressive it will be difficult to catch any of them. The three are all female. Thanks for any help.

My guess the best odds of success would be to put the established angel in the "peacekeeper" container where it and the two newbies can see each other but it can't harrass them as they become established. After a week or two release it and see what happens. Probably, the initial angel will go through a sex change and become a male. But I suspect the less aggressive female of the new pair will get picked on by the other two and you'll need to be ready to rehome it.

I was Qt ing two melanospilos young juveniles about 2in . A lot of aggression at this size . One dominated the other . So if you already have a pair that gets along , I would focus on those two to be your display pairing . I would transfer the bigger one to another tank if u have one or rehome it .
