Additional Lighting for SPS Dominated Reef

Hello R2R !!! I currently have a 90G 48” x 18” standard, sps dominated with 2 XR15s , and i’m receiving a lot of growth but I wanna add a little more light to the tank, I tried adding 2 T5s and one of the ballasts exploded so I returned everything, Im in need of some knowledge on what I can add to give more light to the SPS, Thanks in advance

quanta bars or t5’s work well.. unless you wanna ditch the xr15’s which are not nearly enough light for your tank and get an entire new fixture such as reef breeders or reefi uno pros.

The T5’s IMM, are best with SPS.
I just used 3 Sun Pros off Amazon, linked them together, used 1 antic, 1 purple and 1 blue.
Running 3 years.

i bought the sun pros off amazon and it exploded really would rather the LEDs cause that freaked me out

Sorry to hear that, that’s not good.
Can’t beat the light output of T5’s IMM though.

Maybe a 48" t5 hybrid. Pretty sure they come with the plates to fit radions on them. I ran a 24" version with gen 4 xr15s with 2 B+ and 2 C+bulbs

Not had any issue with these.
Great reflector.

I don't think Sunblasters are rated for use over uncovered tanks.

I run Aquatic Life T5s (check out the hybrid unit, it will hold your XR15s too) but if I could do it all again I would go full on Sunpower with a ReefBrite add on.

This is what I run but with 2 Blue+, 1 Coral+ and 1 Purple+.
