Advice on transporting Waterbox 380

I haven’t purchased it yet, as I need to figure out the logistics of this.

I currently have a 91g tank in my house. I am aiming to swap this tank out for a waterbox 380 (8’ tank), i.e., I’ll be selling off the 91g and intend to place the waterbox in the same spot the current tank sits.

Waterbox does indicate on their website that, for this particular model due to its size (I imagine the 8’ length is the primary limiting factor), they can only ship to a local shipping terminal, and then I have to figure out how to transport it from there to my house to my room on its stand.

for those who have moved large tanks (300g+) before, what’s the process for this? My guess is that I would:
1. Rent a u-haul
2. Rent/buy a hydraulic table lift that can support 600+ lbs (I believe the tank is ~550lb empty)
3. Put the tank on some moving pads and strap it down to the u-haul…maybe on a couple of pallets, although 1 pallet is evidently $150 or something which feels like a waste unless it’s totally necessary, when this will definitely be the only time I ever use a pallet in my life

Is there a better way?

When I got home, I paid 4 strong young men $100 each to pick it up and move it in.

Each person took one corner.

It was in my place beside my old 65g in 10 minutes.

But mine was only 500lbs.

In the end it looks like this was the way to go. My LFS guy (who likes me a lot) even offered to buy the tank from them for me (he got a small commission from them) so that they would ship directly to his warehouse rather than some shipping center, where he had all the trucks and guys needed to then transport it & install into my house.

Cost me $1700 for him to move it + swap out my old tank and all the inhabitants into the new one, but that’s a ton of specialized work. Much better/easier than me trying to do it myself imo.

Thats the best route. I had my LFS move my Miracles 240 into my house. Money will spent.
