so i bought this little rose bta and he wasnt doing well at first.... but then he settled to a spot and was doing great. HE was growing SUPER fast and looked amazing. I woke up this morning and he was all shriveled up, floating around the tank, and his mouth had opened up. I knew he was dead so when I went to scoop him out with the net he fell apart in it ;( there goes another $100.... any idea why he might have died? my levels are PERFECT nothing is out of place at all. Idk why he died so suddenly

Hmm, are you sure the lighting was sufficient? Seems weird that he would go from healthy to dead in one day. $100 for a bta?.... cause around here they go for $50 or less in our club... in a shop prolly $80 and up though.

ya my lfs is great but has some ridiculous prices....... and deff I have metal hailide in my tank on from 9am to 7pm then have the lunar leds on from 6-10pm

How long has the tank been running? Are you sure nothing spiked? Stray voltage?

And lastly are you sure sure sure it was dead?

yea thats wierd dude i know something similiar happened to me but its jut shrivelled up and never saw it again :sad:but your situation i have never heard of if u figure it out please post back with outcome and hope u have better luck on your next one

wow thats sad bud. I bougth a RBTA for my LFS that split after having for around a year. 6months after that I sold one back to the LFS and it died there after 1 day.:( very weird

Someday I'd love to keep one in my reef but I just don't trust them to stay put. Beautiful animal though.

man that is a sad lose i am sorry to hear it i dont really think its the light cuz all i run it a double t5 setup and my gbta is doing fantastic

by water is perfect what are your test results by actual numbers and where in buffalo ny did you buy a rbta for $100? arc, saltwater paradise are maybe 60

Randy from Reef Creation sold it to me. My levels were exactly where they should be. A guy from Reef Creation took a water sample and all was great he said. Nothing was even close to being out of place. Things have been great since then. That Acan never recovered from being fragged but what can ya do. I bought a mini colony and its great. The Tank was at 78 and high point during the day when the light had been on the longest it got to 80 81max

The little guy didnt stay put for a while but had just decided to settle. He was a bit of a pain to try to control from stinging my corals but I managed by putting removable rocks around the corals so If he want near and onto the rock I could move him safely away without stressing or harming him

point of sale. It was dead. Shriveled up mouth opened to about the size of the anemone insides were spillnig out when I took it out and pretty much dicintigrated.

That's crazy, I had the same thing happen to me with a green carpet. LFS hooked up it for $50, about 12in across w/purple striping. They had it in their tanks for at least a year, I took my time acclimating and next day...mouth wide open w/brown crap coming out. Smelled like poo when I took him out
