Does anyone have the AI HMS Multi Light Kit on their tank? I have 2 Hydra 26HD's and I'm trying to figure out how I want to mount them but cant find much on these mounts. My questions would be:

  • Are they adjustable height wise? They sit really high in all pictures
  • Does it fit and seat well on rimmed tanks?
  • Once in place is it sturdy and stable?

I just got one yesterday and will be setting it up this weekend. So far I connected the side mounts together to the long bracket that goes across the tank. Much sturdier than I expected though I will admit I have no lights/weights on them yet. Yes I can adjust the side mounts down to lower the main bar. FYI I have a euro braced tank with the eurobrace 1/2 inch lower than the side glass so the mount sits perfect for me. Will try to go to my phone tomorrow and through some pics up for you.

So they are just sitted on there tank with no additional clamp / support?

Wouldnt a hard enough bump send the whole mount falling ?

I have one over a rimless 80g. I like the overall look but have wondered from time to time about why they don't fasten to the tank like the standard HMS arms.

Suggestion, if you only need two, why not try the regular arms? You could use a plastic spacer under your rim to give them something to hold (I have seen multiple people use legos).

Always wanted to use hms mount but my tank is braced. No way i can mount it with the hms. Still relying on the old AI Rail hanging off the ceiling.

I really dig the new look of the HMS but seems like ai couldnt care less about consumer concern. Tried to email them, no respond. Guess that is as much support they would render.

I feel it is pretty sturdy or sturdy enough for me to not be thinking about changing it.

Hiya. I’m struggling with hydra slimline brackets on a eurobrace tank. Do you have any info or pictures on how to use Lego to help solve the issue

cheers
