AI Hydra 26 HD spectrum

Hi - I am thinking about moving from my current light spectrum of 10k to 14k. Is it OK to change spectrum's on the fly by this much? I know its best practice to increase power slowly but not sure if spectrum is the same.

It's a bit the same. But imo bluer light has less par generally. So it's probably just fine.

Fwiw I've swapped 20k my 14k mh with no issue. That was actually a large change in par.

I'm using AI's "MyAI" app. I'm at 10k right now which has worked really well for growth, almost too much as I'm having to frag often to keep things in check. At this point I think I would like to move more to a 14k for better coloring and overall better look in the tank. In the AI app you adjust to the spectrum you want as well as the amount of power. My plan if I do this was to adjust the spectrum then match the power output to what it is now.

I honesty wouldn't overthink too hard.
I've seen the same brilliant corals under 14k as 20k.

The power numbers don't matmaticly convert to par either. Nor lux or lumens.

IMO. You could just shift colors by increasing blue.

Adjusted to 14k. Will monitor over the next several weeks.
