so I got bought this used AI prime but the indicator is just red and doesn't let me do anything to it, I can't turn the lights on for my tank and I also can't connect to it

You need to reset it by pushing the reset button.

I tried this already but nothing happens, the light doesn't start flashing, it just stays a solid red.

Did you see it working when you bought it from the seller?
Solid red that does not reset is a problem.

You did hold reset button down for a while right? Sometimes it takes a while to start resetting like 15 seconds...

Sounds like he sold you a broken light man. If its under a year old you might be able to get warranty?

Did you see it working in person when you bought it?

Hopefully you bought on an app/site that will help you get a refund.
The AI warranty only applies to original purchaser "This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable from the original consumer purchaser."

I got it off Facebook market place

Just putting my two cents...did you check the power supply to see if it also indicates red? Tri3d another outlet.
Also, try holding the reset button as you power cycle the unit...basically hold button while you disconnect it from the wall outlet.

I would try the reset a few more times in different ways. Hold it down a good 30 seconds or longer. Also try like @El_reverde says.

If that doesn't work, reach out to the seller. Make sure to document everything.
If you don't get a response, I would put in a dispute with the FB marketplace and with your credit card/paypal.

Having the same problem with a used prime hd. Did you ever get it sorted out?

In my experience, if the light is flashing red and the light does not turn on at all, there is a problem. In many cases it is a burned out LED or two. In some cases it's an issue with the mainboard (corrosion, short, etc.).
