Does anyone have this problem? My salinity reads incorrectly every day due to air bubbles gathering on the probe. There are no visible bubbles in the area if the sump the probes are in but it is a high flow area so I’m sure there are micro bubbles. I can try to move the probes if I have room but just wondering if anyone else deals with this.

You can try to suspend it in a cylinder with open top and bottom. Or consider putting it in your overflow box which would be before the micro-bubbles form.

Yeah I thought about the overflow too. Or even against the back of the tank. But I want the kids for those places to fit correctly.

The GHL measurement cell is expensive - but looks like a good alternative. I was going to purchase, but I have had good success so far with them in the overflow box.

I (of course) have a coast to coast overflow. It has polycarbonate lids and I drilled 4 holes to hold the probes. They get high flow and don't often deviate due to bubbles.

I’ll have to look up the measurement cell.
My overflow and tank lids and are aluminum so I’d rather not drill into them.
I will check out the GHL measurement cell and hopefully that will do it

I have siphon from my overflow down to my sump. My electrodes are 5 cm away from the siphon outlet. Clean it with a tooth brush (soft) once a month

Last 24 hours, sample each 5 minutes

Mine has been fairly stable mounted in the sump unless i do something and the full siphon pulls in some air. Then the reading drops and takes a few days to stabilize again.

Adaptive Reef also makes a measurement cell.

I have mine right by the first baffle in my sump so it has so it has both a horizontal and vertical flow on it. I don’t get any bubbles on mine.

I just moved it there to the first chamber. I have a filter roller so there seems to be less turbulence in that area.

I like the idea of the GHL measurement cell, but I don't want to plumb anything inline right now if I don't have to
