Hey all so I changed my sump and ran into a issue with the height of my skimmer anyway sold the skimmer and ordered a new smaller one. So now I'm without a skimmer. I have alot of surface agitation but that's is for gas exchange. Do you guys think I should put a small air stone in the sump temporarily? The new skimmer should be here and installed by Thursday the 15th. Thanks

What are you expecting the air stone to do for you? Aeration is all that it will do and In limited amounts. If you have decent surface movent in your DT the air stone in your sump isn't bringing anything to the table imo.

I pump air from the outside thru an airline tube into an aeration pump that blows some serious mucrobubbles in my sump.

I peak out at 8.3 pH at the height of my light cycle.... without the fresh air I'd probably peak at 8.1

Higher ph... the faster corals grow. BRStv did a long series in such matters

I think you should put one in. Then you will understand why we say no all the time to air stones.
It will make a big mess with salt everywhere. If you get a good one your tank will be full of microbubbles.
Your sump will have a bunch of foam in it.
