branches covered in zoas would be stunning. I actually purchased a few frags a few weeks ago (king Midas, circus freak) and placed them on some bottom branches. I haven’t had much luck with zoas in the past (one of those corals I could never figure out lol) but made some changes and hoping for different results with these!

If you do get your branch rock in place, I’d love to see some photos in the future.
I need to order some mortar to put them together. I ought to pull them out and try to get a layout done and see what I can do with them.
Yes, absolutely! I think branches add so much to a scape! If you do, move forward, let me know so I can check it out too!

Happy to report that my tank survived TWO weeks unattended while I was out of the country. The wife and I visited family in England, (cheers to the Yorkshire Reefer for local shop recommendations) and escaped the ever approaching hot Texas summer.

It is always an uneasy feeling leaving the tank unattended for so long. Thankful for no equipment failures, while away...seem to always happen around travel lol.

Apart from some massive film algae and and some low nutrients, the tank survived with minimal loss (two snails and a single branching hammer head. Too soon to tell if a total loss.

Not sure Roki would sit long enough to get glasses on him, but Ulysses seems tolerant enough. They're great dogs; after the adjustment to their personality... I grew up with shepherds; not used to negotiating with dogs.
Nice looking tank too.

Long time, no post—but the reef is still rolling! Two months shy of year three 💪🏽

Here’s this week’s full tank shot.
RIP to my lone SPS bubblegum digi (algae won that battle), but the torches are dancing, the rhodactis are popping, and the zoas are taking over in the best way!

Caught a bad case of cyano over the past few weeks. I’ve dealt with Dino’s and GHA over the years, but this was a challenging battle with cyano. I went back to weekly water testing and found that my nitrates were nearly nonexistent. I have a decent fish load and feed what I thought was fairly heavily, so I’m guessing my protein skimmer has been working overtime.

I siphoned out the cyano and have been slowly dosing MicroBacter7, along with Brightwell’s NeoNitro as needed.

The tank is on the mend, but I figured I’d share this for documentation purposes.

The torch are still dancing and the Zoa's are growing - they didn't seem to mind the water blasting to remove the red slime.

I had one of those LFS Saturdays, where I was able to spend a couple of hours this morning (was still able to catch most of the Masters weekend) traveling to few fish stores in the area. My Airedale tagged along too, which is always a good time.

I was looking for a few more Rhodactis shrooms, in which I was unsuccessful, but I didn't walk away empty handed.

New additions to the tank:

1. Yasha Goby
2. Candy Cane Pistol shrimp
3. Joker Torch

I'll post some photos once they settle in...Solid day.

They are the best dogs, but clearly I am biased....the most loyal, courageous, intelligent and ruggedly handsome devils around! He’s the kind of dog that makes you choose Airedales for life @airedale.ulysses on instagram if you care to follow there as well

Does your brother have an Airedale?

Great tank! Love the dimensions and rock work.
My in laws have always kept Airedales on their farm. They make great outdoor dogs too. Always very friendly and full of energy.

thank you - it has been a great tank, and fits in the assigned "designated tank space" perfectly...Although I am always trying to convince the Wife that a bigger tank means bigger fish lol. I got some mixed reviews regarding my branching rock scape, so it is nice to see someone else appreciate the branching work.

No complaints about Airedale's here. The most versatile dog in my opinion! Companion, field work, hunting, guard dogs, farm helpers, and even military and police work. You can usually find mind sitting next to me watching the tank.

They are the best!!
When my daughter was a couple of weeks old we went to the dog park, a big, unfenced field. Dog was sniffing around on the other side of the field 100+ yards away, not listening to us. Not to calls, treats, food, nothing. But then my daughter whimpered, he bolted to us to make sure she was ok.
Good dog.

I love this - thanks for sharing! Doesn't surprise me at all though...They’re the kind of dogs you get once—and afterward, it’s hard to imagine choosing any other breed.
