It is the old classic apex yes. Firmware is 4.40_3A16

So, just changed the code to match the "teal" time box and not the "orange" and it worked! Problem is that the orange box is my actual time??? Do not get this?

SOLVED;
My apex was set to time zone 8 which was what my laptop perhaps was set to when first set it up. This meant that the "apex" time was 2hrs behind (the teal colored time box) the orange is the time from the router but the apex I think code wise still went off of the "apex/teal" time.
Make sense??

So the fuge light had been working but not exactly at your specified time correct? I had the impression that it never worked at all when set to auto mode ;-)
if you had mentioned the symptoms accurately we would have jumped to the time issue way back. Anyway glad it works for you
