Any ideas??? It's roughly like a turf, has bubbles (both micro and decent size), has a matting attack on the acrylic surfaces, snails, tangs, and angels pick at it. I'm leaning towards dinos but know I can be wrong. Thanks

Looks like it might be a type of calothrix, kind of hairy dino's.

I'll have to check that out (never heard of calothrix). I appreciate it.

Judging from the few info and pics, I'd have to agree with you Downbeach. Sure does look like it. Now how to treat it and keep it off my corals, sides of the DT and rocks!!??

Some updated shots (cell pics so not so good). 1: overflow, 2: 1 of 4 powerheads, 3: brown dust on floor (not cyano like), 4: unhappy brown unknowns

Looks like diatoms. What are your water's parameters, N's and P's? What are you using to test them with? Are you using RO/DI water? What did you use for substrate?

N=0
P=.15 (both with API)
Substrate is tropic eden reef flakes
RO/DI by BRS (75GPD) switched 2 months ago, tds reading 420+ going in, 0 going out.

I have to agree looks like Dinos, I would take everything out that you can and clean it real good with a toothbrush and change out your sandbed, sandbeds soakup PO4 when they are new, I would change out half the sandbed at a time.

I'll take the rockwork out at the last resort, but the sand might be coming out soon (within a week). Thanks for the reply.
