Algae ID

Oddly enough this algae first appeared out of nowhere on two of my astrea snails after they had been in the tank for a few weeks. It never spread anywhere else in the tank and eventually disappeared off the snails. Now I see it cropping up on two of the rocks that my cuc don't frequently live on. It's almost like a leaf? Very thin and cupped or flat shaped, bright to dark green color. Reminds me of a fly's wing. It does not brush off easy.

Any ID help?

I would call that an ulva species possibly, macro for sure and not particularly scary among requisite hitchhikers which they are!

Yeah i was going to say ulva. If its soft and fleshy got to be ulva.

theyll fill in or possibly die off at times, or do different things depending on conditions

Not concerning because they are among most sensitive to peroxide and will simply die with any form of administration as reset button if needed

I can't think of a weaker plant to peroxide than that single celled ulva it just cannot tolerate it. doesn't mean a dose wipes all holdfast areas instantly, but if it became invasive it would be easy to cheat kill off the rocks.
