Google "higher magnesium and byropsis" some people swear by it.

But I have never found an animal that is 100% sure to take care of byropsis. Tangs, rabbits, and others have been known to eat it but like I say they are not 100%.

I had bryopsis bad and did this method, it does not work and would never recommend it, snails, shrimp, crabs, sea hair all died because of high mag, and lost all color of my sps, all to do nothing to the bryopsis.
What did work for me was getting some rowaphos in a phosban reactor, scrubbing the rock with power toothbrush. Feed the fish once a day what they can eat in 15 seconds.

the only mag that would put a dent in it is kent tech-m
if you pull it off do it under a siphon so you dont spread it.
lights out dont do anything.
the problem is that any piece to get away can become another plant. it also is sexual and spreads i just tried coralrx and it does not work on it nor does peroxide

If you decide to try the Mg overdose, it does work, BUT only with Kent TechM. It's actually not the Magnesium that does it, but some type of impurity, in Kent TechM, that's as yet, unknown. Supposedly, Brightwell Mg works too, as it's the same formulation.

Read up on it. It does work.

A few warnings:

Some LPS and Zoanthids may bleach out, but they will recover.
You'll need to do regular water changes, in order to be able to dose TechM again.
Most have had good results at about 1600ppm. I raised mine to 1700ppm, with NO ill effects to anything other than the Bryopsis. A turf algae that I have growing in a few areas also died, IN the areas where it receives direct light. In shaded areas, it was uneffected. Majano's bleached, but didn't die...Grrr

My tanks has LOTS of SPS, 5 clams, lots of LPS and Zoanthids. No negative effect to anything, but the bryopsis and turf algae. Bleaching corals recovered.

so i began dosing kent tech M about a week and a half ago, as said on instructions.. decided to take the slow route and just add by daily doses, instead of all at once to reduce death and bleaching...

so these pictures were from a few days ago before i broke my iphone

a week and a half ago

this is the only bleaching so far(a couple of the WW's mouths), alot of things have began to change in color.. some have even started growing alot more for what ever reason (for example:VDM gained at least 2 or 3 polyps in a week and thats just as much as its it has grown in the month i had it prior to dosing)

That doesn't look like Briopsis to me. Looks more like a form of Calerpa.

It has overun one of my tanks but with all the expensive frags I have in it, I won't even consider trying the magnesium method. As long as I trim it once a week and keep my prized frags on a rack (away from it), I don't mind it. It helps keep my tank free of any nitrates and phosphates and I can power feed the corals.

bryopsis. I have a tank that's been established for over 2 yrs with a ton of it + a bunch of pest anemones. I set up another tank with none of the pests and eventually my corals will be transfered over. No pests in the new tank. Made sure I stayed away from aguacultured rock this time. I like the older tank only because I can feed my corals and fish every day and night and not worry about nitrates or phosphates hindering the growth. It speeds up the growth of my frags and provides a good environment for new frags to heal.

OK, I've had briopsis that I've successfully treated with Kent's Tech M and it didn't look like that. The fronds coming off of the stems were much more delicate looking. Also, I agree with you that it's not feather caulerpa, but there are many types of caulerpa besides feather caulerpa.

i wouldnt put frags in there to heal because i wouldnt want to take a chance of transfering it back to the new tank... IMO

I didn't say that I knew all the species of caulerpa, but that it looked a lot more like caulerpa than briopsis. It's hard to tell from your pictures, but it could be Caulerpa ashmaedii. How's the Tech M working?
