I have a clear HOB filter box, and some LED lights. The lights are waterproof, so they're pretty thick and hard to wrap around the box, so could I put them in the box? This doesn't seem like a good idea, but the frustration of trying to wrap the LEDs outside the box is quickly growing. :I

Lets assume they would work submerged, you would have problems with algae growing directly on the strips and salt creep clouding the light making it output lower PAR. This seems like you're going to have frustration either way, would you rather deal with it now building or later when you have to keep the HOB clean to maintain performance.

Assuming the lights have the correct IP rating[see attached photo to make sure] they should be able to work underwater as long as no electrical connections are exposed to your saltwater
