After a few weeks of dosing algaefix (4ml every 3 days) and manual removal, I’m proud to say I have cleaned my tank to a tolerable degree.

For reference, every surface in my tank was covered. Rocks, sand and back glass. While some algae remains, it’s now to a level where I feel my CUC, lawnmower blenny or very small yellow tang could help.

Yeah vibrant has Busan 77 which is the same algaecide as algaefix.

Did you notice any side effects from the algaefix? Any corals or fish show signs of stress?

I didn’t see anything that indicated stress. They all ate, swam normally, no rapid/labored breathing. From what I’ve seen, it looks like that people may have been overdosing their tank resulting in livestock due off since I saw algae just die off in huge amounts and all my stock be fine.

That was my thought too, but it's scary with the systems and livestock we run.

I've used vibrant before without issue but given the circumstances I'd like to try something else, when/if necessary.

I’ve also used vibrant (which is algaefix) and had a crazy aggressive brown fuzzy algae. 1.5 months later dosing 8ml every two weeks and my tank is full of coralline algae and free of the pest algae! Attached is the before and after when it was about 70% clear.

I have that same stuff I am fighting in my main system. It comes back in one day!

Your tank looks much better in the after pics. How big is your system?

I have a Reefer 350 92g tank. Here’s a pic from a few days ago, completely algae free.

Did you manually remove and/or scrub the algae?

My tank has been up only a few weeks, transfered established Rock from another setup but am going through an algae bloom. Went through a bottle of microbacter xlm and today just started dosing microbacter clean. Any thoughts on that stuff? Would be nice to not need to use vibrant for my tank..
