AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

already applied thermal paste to it and also
normal, mine do that during ramp up and ramp down. It does it between each setting its changing to. Does not do it during the main stead peak lighting during the day
changed it to high intensity lens but i find it hard to screw it back in cause it dont have like the downward gap so it would have space but i finally managed to screw it all together

I have 3 going and feel like the fans run a little loud. Was going to take apart and see if I can swap fans, but not sure how to access the fan side. Anyone try anything yet to quiet the fans?

how many watts are you pushing? Mine is at 56w and i dont even hear the fans at all

At 90w (41-42°C) I can definitely hear the fan on mine. It was a bit annoying at first, but I've learned to mostly tune it out. It's not worth it to me to mess with it, but I would probably replace it if someone had a good method.

you are running much higher than me. I was pulling my wattage use out of my Hydros controller.
I can hear my fans running now but if I only listen for them. Mine seem to be extremely quiet

Here is mine with my phone right on top of the light like 2” above and 3 feet away with the fan running.

I cranked it up to 107w and let it run for about 20min. I could barely hear the light sitting on my couch about 8feet away and the DB meter showed it only went up to 55 from 51 with the phone 2in above the fan.
Max temp i hit was 45.2c as well

also if its like the radion. Once you take the 4 screws out up top there should be another set screw down inside that you can unscrew the 4 top bolts and the top plate should come right off

61c to electronics is not super hot. GPU's and CPU's when running can push 80-90c+ with no issues at all and can sit at those temps all day
How would you compare the A8 to the radion overall? so far im liking the lights already HAHA

its been a while since I had a radion. My last tank I had a G5 blue XR15 and i will say this like if you didnt see the name on it you would not really be able to tell the difference.

oh wow yeah, btw

what do you think is best for me in my tank like is it best to do vertically? instead of the standard horizontal orientation of the light? i do have 3 of these and my tank is like 21-24" wide i cant remember

if your tank is 24" wide I would do all 3 horizontal that would give you a blanket coverage front to back and side to side.
also dont place them perfectly apart. Watch the one BRS video they did on spacing and kinda take that as a guide to figure out how to space yours

This. They are just small
