Alkalinity controller without reagent! Aquawiz

I came upon this as I am dosing AFR and measuring dKH with the Aquawiz and Hanna. I am trying to figure out how to avoid dKH swings of aprox 1dKH a day. Do you mind sharing if you dose daily all at once or do you break it up? I tired breaking the dosage up into 2 doses. And it attawhat point in the photoperiod is the dosing taking place?
Hi,
1dkh fluctuation on AFR is a lot. I dose AFR in one dose and monitor via Aquawiz, my Kh fluctuates from the evening by less than o.5 at the moment.
Initially i was dosing too little and i was in the same boat as you, i gradually increased AFR according the usage in the Aquawiz graph.

Another option is to dose Afr at once and use a Kh buffer dosed via Aquawiz but there are Pro's and cons to everything.

1) As long as the ph probe stays clean without any algae, the kh reading won't get affected. Black edition! Great idea 😀.

2) ph reading is a new feature that was just added and needs to be fixed. At this point it is only useful for watching trends.

3) I have made a video on how to setup the calcium reactor controller: please see below. Cheers!

So is there an ETA for the PH probe to be debugged?

The pH feature introduced in the fourth generation was mainly designed around the concept and indicator of relative pH value. The absolute pH value is merely provided as a reference or supplementary reading. In the future, it may be removed, and only the relative pH indicator will be kept, allowing users to manage and control pH levels more conveniently.

Hello !

When performing the calibration, will the Aquawiz replace the reference water with new tank water in order to be accurate ?
No you don’t need to bother with the reference water the only thing you need to do to calibrate is test with whatever alk tester you trust most and enter the results into the calibration and you are done.

Aquawiz products are available for purchase on my website Collectors Corals
So... Do you ever run site sales? 😀

With the US dollar weakening to other global currencies and tariff on imports, prices are going up for us. US dollars buying power weakened to a maximum of about 15pct since May. Government will be implementing 20% tariff on imports from Taiwan on August 29.

We will have a better idea of the final price of Aquawiz once the tariff kicks in at end of the month.

We will have a sale once we go past these current price instability.

Definitely understandable. Have to be thoughtful about impacts. May we live in interesting times.

Does anyone have an issue with the unit when the pH delta is negative? Perfect measurements while pH delta positive however as soon as it drops below zero the reported dKh starts to rise? The support/distro has been awesome and hopefully no such issues with the new unit.

:edit: posting in original thread

Has anyone had an issue where it shows the PH probe Health at 0? I got my aquawiz today and its showing PH probe Health at 0 but its a brand new probe. Not sure if it will measure in this state or not.

Ok in case anyone else has this happen after the first reading the PH probe health went to 100% and everything is working as expected.

Yes had that issue - the connection on both the units I had was very unreliable, slight bump or moved cable and the probe will drop to 0.

@CollectorsCorals LLC hey man, hope you are well. Check out this video. Shouldn’t I have lines on the tubes for water level?

The lines can get erased they are not permanent. As long as you keep the levels on both tubes the same it should be fine. this issue happens on the glass tubes and in new version we got plastic tubes and the lines don't get erased any more.

it takes one hour for the new machine data to establish and show on the server. So this is normal.

It does not show a dose of alkalinity solution. Where does the solution of sodium bicarbonate come from?
I will make a video on the dosing soon. The alk solution needs to be stored in a bottle and connected to the first dosing head to the left of the unit:

Detailed dosing information is available here under the installation menu:
