180g, fairly well stocked with maturing LPS and SPS.

My alkalinity used to hold pretty well between 9.5 and 10.5. In the past month or so, it seems that whenever my calcium reactor is running my alkalinity goes up to over 12 dKH. I've done whatever I can with the reactor to reduce its effectiveness but nothing seems to work.

The reactor has been off since the 6/4 and it's still above 10, though it did drop to below 10 last night. The only thing I'm running that might be adding some alk is my kalk reactor, yet I don't think that would be enough to hold the level as high as it is right now.

Any ideas why my alkalinity won't come down?

Depends on your consumption, evaporation rate and potency of your Kalk thingy. I add 1 DKH through a settled Kalk solution for evaporation.

Hmm...yeah I guess I left that kind of vague. More accurately, running Kalk never had much of an effect on my Alkalinity in the past.

Kalkwasser supplied all the alkalinity I needed for 20 years.

If you want to see the full demand, turn off the flow through it for a couple of days.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
