Sorry for the delay everyone I had family visit last weekend and completely forgot to post the parameters. I’ve tested again today and these are the results
PH:8.3
Nitrate:0ppm
Nitrite:0ppm
Ammonia:slightly above 0ppm but I tested right before I did a water change
Whilst I was cleaning today I thought my Duncan had a little algae on it and Whilst trying to clean it off I’ve accidentally pulled it off it’s plug rock and i can’t find it :( so now it’s just the maybe dead GSP and the Acan.
I took some pictures in as white of a light I could get and I’ve turned my lights to the 20000 setting in hope of my corals doing better
I also had a fan worm show up today that’s pretty cool
Do you know what test kits they are using ?

I’ve removed the aptasia I’ve read about that and I really don’t want that in my tank. No I don’t run carbon
Do you need the exact results from the tests ?I can get those from my lfs tomorrow
A new thread in the algae forum with good pics of your rocks and sand may be better. Couple of us suspect you have dinos

Yes, get the tests done and please post as soon as you are able.
Pick up some quality carbon when you are there. You can throw it in panty hose (rinsed clean) if you don't have a bag. The carbon needs to be rinsed under tap water. Just hold the bag and flip it till it runs clean. You don't want to squish it all around.

I’m not 100% sure but I think they use Red Sea

If that’s the case then that’s fine just wondered if they cheaped out with an api I would double check though what their using I’d suggest you get some salifert test kits for use at home or Hanna if you wanna spend the cash. zero nitrate is not good in my opinion however if your having algae issues that’s probably what’s consuming the nitrate. Could well be Dinos does your water stink when you do a water change ? Or any stringy snot or brown snotty bubbles during or towards the end of the light schedule.

Algae OR cyano-Dino ?
things that would cause this:
Dino
High Phosphate, nitrate or both
High alk
High salinity
Inadequate lighting
Water flow too strong
Pests such as little grey bugs or nudibranchs
Flatworms
High temperature

Safe ranges are :

Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .10
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03
mG 1300
Alk 8-11
CA 400- 440

Yeah I will look at the test kits tomorrow and pick up a few for myself if I can
The water doesn’t smell bad when I change it just a slight marine smell
There aren’t any brown bubbles that I can see I have seen some green bubbles (I think that’s green bubble algae) in the past but only one or two

I’ve only ever used the po4 and in all honesty it’s absolutely useless reading at low range I’d imagine the alk cal & mag will be similar to other test kits. Nt labs is a uk company I used their aiptasia product once and it burns anything it comes into contact with so lost half my monti plate however it is regrowing over the dead Skelton now.

I personally use

Hanna ulr for po4

Hanna dkh for alk I have a salifert on stand by if I get strange readings (I started with salifert to begin with hanna is just quicker)

salifert for cal

and I don’t test mag

Update : I think I’ve found the problem my hydrometer arrived and I tested salinity and it was over 1.028
I’m now in the process of adding RO and taking out salt to get the correct salinity
