Been following you on IG I plan on doing a light rack similar to yours only with a finished frame hanging canopy. I love the photon V2 lights( American version). Just can’t decide if I will do the 4 48” only or add some light bars to that as well for both acitnic and uv. Need to rent a par meter once I have everything setup plan on keeping the lights 18” from the top of tank 20” from water line.

that's great to hear what is your IG? i have some left over wood now from the cabinet so going to finish off the light rack finally. you shouldnt have an issue with the lights i run mine at 80 percent blue channels and 20 percent whites and get 250 par on the sand bed using a seneye reef par meter.

It's been a long time since I sat down and wrote an update on the tank. I seem to use Instagram and youtube more so apologises for not including the updates on here also but here goes.

So the tank has been doing really well. Parameters are stable and the only issues I have had to battle have been dinos and turf algae.

The war on dinos has been won for the time being and the turf algae is on the retreat. I have been using a mixture of live rock enhance, microbacter 7 and vibrant to keep biodiversity in the tank but also to let the ingredients in vibrant etc do their work [emoji106]

In the meantime since I showed you pictures I have fitted the alkatronic and dosetronic which have been amazing once i read the manual and stopped thinking I knew what I was doing! Whoops haha

The tank now has four rw20 jebaos on the overflow end of the tank and the two xf350 gyres on the opposite end. These have been working flawlessly with plenty of flow but in the back of my mind I know the jebaos will break at some point so constantly researching on powerheads as of late and I think either six rossmont mx15200 or four mp60s will be coming soon.

I have since added a sea hare also thinking the turf algae was hair algae but he has definitley eaten the algae off the sand bed.

I've added some sera silicate remover after cleaning the sand bed and getting some diatoms.

Fish wise I have now stocked the tank so it's onto corals. Fish list compiles of:

Foxface LO
Magnificent Foxface
Tomini tang
Vampire tang
Pair of bluethroat triggers
Jewel algae blenny
Scarlett hawk fish
15 lyre tail anthias
3 chromis
Coral beauty
Bella goby
Chalk goby
Copperband
High fin flasher wrasse
Labouts wrasse
Melanrus wrasse
Timor wrasse
Peacock wrasse
Yellow tail tamarin wrasse
Four tank bred clowns
Cleaner wrasse
Cleaner shrimp
A few snails
One red leg hermit

I think that's it?

So I have ordered some new controllers for the lights that will smoothen the ramps on the morning and evenings and I'm maybe looking at going with an AB+ style schedule although this one I have now is awesome so who knows but I wanted to try and get a more T5 colour to the tank. You know like that gorgeous light blue tint?

I also have around 20 SPS frags of various sticks and a few bits of monti cap along with some LPS but you can hardly see them in the tank and it definitley needs more!

So here are some pics I hope you like them

Morning guys. Procrastinating on the throne as I'm sure most guys do so thought I would share a couple of YouTube videos for you guys to watch.

I took the plunge and bought some oleg controllers for my semigrow lights and I'm chuffed to bits with the results they really have unlocked the true potential of the lights now

Will have a bigger update coming soon as I have a few changes on the way.

So I guess I should really start updating this thread more then I do as I update Instagram/Facebook/youtube often enough.

The tank is coming into its own now its nearly a year old. I decided to switch over to oceamo instead of ATI essentials Pro but due to phopshates leeching from my live rock it has been keeping my alkalinity elevated so only dosing around 5ml a day.

Had an oceamo ICP test done and came back pretty good so I've just been trying to keep my hands out the tank and keep buying corals as much as I can.

I have also been debating whether to add some more tangs as I fancy a freckleface, a purple and group of yellows but don't know if the tank Is already too stocked?

I have recently been finishing off the lighting pelmet and electrical control board.

I might aswell let the pictures and videos do the talking [emoji106] any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Love the setup as a whole, the picture of the Bella goby is fantastic! I dont think its too stocked for a freckle face and a purple as long as you keep up with your filter sock changes and such!

I enjoyed the read-through, but these things happen. I also haven’t updated my build thread in a long time ;)
