Just bought a 60ml bottle of the brightwell aminos. Not sure if it will make a difference or not, but I will post some before pics then after at some point.

No, I am trying to find out what works best with great results. I’ve been using Brightwell and like it as you can see but wondering if it’s better to switch to acro power or stick to this one.
I'm not sure which is better, but I'm sure people will have a favourite though. I might try using the acro power and try and take some photos of certain corals and see if they change at all for better or worse. Unless I have a massive failure in the meantime.

Can i ask what dosing and how often, also what did it do? Did it improve corals etc?

I dose about 1 ml per 10 gallons daily. I spread it out over several hours. It does not need to be refrigerated so it's easy to use dosing pumps.

What I see is a definite increase in polyp extension in many different types of corals. Not just acros. I basically see the corals trying to feed more. And in the end, they are happier and seem to do better. I can also say when I stop dosing it there is a noticeable difference.

At one time I had the dosing set up to proceed me feeding reef roids. Because it does seem to trigger a feeding response in some corals.

One thing I learned the hard way is don't use those pretty acrylic dosing containers. It seems to go through the glue and leaks. Just like 2-part alkalinity will.

I used to dose 5ml acropower every other day, but without running gfo my po4 would skyrocket. I've since dropped the phosphate and have recently started dosing the acropower again. X per week. So far so good. Also, this is on a 29biocube, with lots of acros and zoas.

Be careful. High no3 and po4 happened to me and it caused fast growing acros with rainbow colors.

Thanks for that I'm tempted, what I might do is 2ml daily as it's a 24 gallon, so slightly less than what you said you dose and see how it goes.

The thing is. I never dosed my tank when I had sps and it grew really well, no high end stuff just digitata but it's still sps. This was my tank a while ago but I lost the digi to stn/rtn due to zero phosphates with a faulty test kit.

I still have polyps left that are still extending and I hope they might come back.

I guess it all what works for you. When I used acropower I always supplemented it with something else. Which translates to buying two products vs. one. You can buy two big bottles of reef biofuel before you buy on 16oz of acropower. Fuel works great for lps corals as well.

I might give acro power a try as it was free, then once that's all gone ( might be a while as only a small tank) I could use it on my other 2 tanks well i suppose, would bta benefit from amino acids?

Did you mean reef biofuel by brightwell? Doesn't that reduce phosphates and nitrates. (Quick google search) or did you mean another product?

It’s part of seachem’s aquavitro line “fuel”. Not “reef bio fuel” which brightwells carbon source for microbacter 7 I’m aging accidents happen lol. I’ve never notice any negative in terms my nutrient levels using even up to 4x a week when my tank was packed with colonies.

FWIW the description on Amazon is not correct. Fuel is a nutritional supplement that contains amino acids. I would say it's as popular as acropower. It's hard to get because aquavitro products are only sold at lfs. That is the big reason I have never tried it. I generally love sachem products. I live too far from a lfs. I have to be able to buy what I use on line.

I saw what you meant on amazon the first listing for fuel had the wrong description down bellow. The description was for aquavitro’s ion which is Mg supplement. Fuels definitely an amino product lol! I found you a link with the proper description on amazon. I get it cheaper at LFS if you decide to try it out it may be worth checking beforehand!

I use acro power almost daily on my 120 mix reef, abs have been for about 2 years now. Definitely brought out some color on my sps, as well as some of the other corals. I also started using aquaforest life source about once every 4-6 weeks. Corals seem to love it and I have not noticed any flux in my levels. I also feed fish minimal so tend to not have a lot of level to start with.

Been dosing 15ml for about 6 weeks in 200g. Don’t think it’s enough. Turned up the doser to 30ml. We’ll see if anything changes in a few weeks.im talking about acropower by the way.
