After years of wanting a marine tank I decided to take the plunge. I decided to go with a pre-loved tank to see where the hobby takes me. I was going to add a bean animal overflow, but moving the tank a second time to drill additional holes isn’t going to happen. I’ve already started designing my second tank to accommodate all of the modifications I want going forward
After a week of trying to decide how I was going to do the plumbing I went back to essentially what the tank came with. I’ll be ordering the final bits and pieces this week.
I didn’t like the sump design as the compartments weren’t well spaced out. With some hesitation I decided to redo all of the baffles. The old baffles were so caked in I couldn’t get them out. A bit of help from a hammer and a scraper sorted out that annoyance. New glass should be arriving this week.
