Hello everyone,
This anemone was shipped from LiveAquaria. I ordered this along with some fish, and the whole shipment was delayed. The fish were both dead on arrival and this was not looking good. I have placed it in the tank in an attempt to save it but I was wondering if this is savable or if i’m just harming my tank by trying? Please let me know what you think! Thank you!

Thank you for the quick reply! Okay I will try to walk away and let it be haha. No, I didn’t notice a smell at all, the water was discolored and and dirty but not fragrant by any means.

It also has a lot of slime shedding from it. For the most part the slime is clear or white in color!

How did you acclimate it and for how long?
Not dead but needs to adjust to water in your tank hence importance of acclimation. Lower water flow so it has an opportunity to plant its foot in a select location on its own

I first floated it because the water was freezing when I got it, then I drip acclimated for i’m not sure around 45 minutes to an hour but the water it was in was still too cold so I placed it in the tank. I am sure that wasn’t best but I was panicking a little bit and hoped that the drip was enough to adjust it to my water’s chemistry!

Thank you for the reply! I have turned down the flow and hope it’s low enough!

The cold water isn't what will cause issues if brought back up to temp slowly.

Carpets should be shipped in a Large volume of water, which L.A. Doesn't do ( anybody surprised?) When the ship and foul the water with waste ( which it looks to have) reingesting that water will often cause a bacterial infection later on.

Watch it closely. If the mouth continues gaping, or gets worse, it may need to be treated.

Thank you for the reply! Awesome, I appreciate the feedback! So it looks like it may be okay? The mouth hasn’t gaped any larger but has pushed out a significant amount of clear/white hazy slime! Is this something alarming?

The fact that it’s still expelling anything is confirmation that it’s still alive more than likely it’s expelling zooxanthella It’ll have to adjust to your lighting so keep it in a low lit area and leave it be don’t think about it too much you’ll just stress yourself out

Thank you again! I’ve been staring at it, so I am going to go to the gym and hope it acclimates more and gets settled! I’ll update you in a couple hours probably

Do you have a small container you can make into a hospital tank?

I'm assuming you don't have any antibiotics on hand like ciproflaxin?

@Eagle_Steve thoughts?
I can’t right now cuz of time restriction. I also don’t have that on hand no. Is it ok to leave in there for now or does it need to come out?
