You might be able to have the local fish store test calcium / alkalinity in the meantime.

They are quirky and very sensitive.
They prefer a more established system.
You will have to wait it out at this point,

I listed some of it I'm what kinda lights they are old my salinity is 1.024 and I don't have a test for cal alk and mag my temp is like 78f

Are they T5 or T8s? If you didn't know those bulbs lose effiencey over time. Usually they change them out yearly. How much light loss there is idk (I use LEDs so I don't worry about it). Also the white color is going to produce more algae in your tank.

I'm no expert by any means...but I've been reading up on BTAs because my goal is to own a couple in my new 32gal biocube. First and foremost, I'd go back to my LFS and cuss the guy that sold you the anemone without ensuring you were ready to take it on. He's ignorant and doesn't know how to do his job or just doesn't care.

Second, I think you've bit off more than you can chew at this time...you need to be testing for more than just the basic Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, salinity, and PH in order to own anemone. While those parameters are imperative, they are only part of what you need to understand.

I'd call the LFS and ask if you can bring it back because the "sales person" misled you to believe you could own this animal. You need to have a well established tank (minimum of 5 to 6 months) in order to have a good shot at it.

@cromag08 knows his stuff. Maybe he can offer some insight.

I'm just worried that the tank isn't established enough. Even with all of the parameters you can measure there is a lot that goes on we can't measure as hobbyists. It really can take a few months for the rocks, substrate and saltwater to reach an equilibrium for your given pH, alk and temp. We can speed the process up for most fish by adding bacteria. We can't speed this process up for more sensitive species.

Water conditions are not optimal and the zooxanthellae probably bailed which lead to bleaching it's in rough shape, but not dead.

If someone is new to the hobby, I tell them to wait until they learn how to keep their water conditions stable - that timeframe can be different for everyone.

What needs to be kept stable/test for - temp, salinity, nitrates, phosphates, magnesium, calcium and alkalinity. anemones like stable, reef conditions

Too much light can also cause issues. some anemones like a lot of light, and some only like a little. it's about keeping the symbiotic relationship with the zoox in check.
