Thanks, hopefully when covid settles down I will be looking to upgrade to a 40 gallon

2 plus a actinic bar from reef breeders

Thank you. The tank looks amazing, goes without saying! Any tips for getting growth in your BTA's (comparing your shots to a few months ago)? It sounds like they don't get a lot of physical feeding from your response to my prior question.

If you don't mind, may I pick your mind on a few other things - What type of salt mix do you use? And do you dose?

Hi thanks! I used to feed them but have stopped for a while now and they only get what they catch from what I feed the fish (LRS, Mysis, etc). I use ocean water from the LFS and do a 5 gallon water change weekly and dose 2 part twice a week (sea chem reef fusion) and red sea ab+ twice a week. Other than that its a pretty simple tank to maintain and gives me few issues besides bubble algae and the occasional aiptasia that shows up. I do manual top offs for freshwater and rarely test parameters. Alot easier to maintain and keep eveyone healthy than my 15 gallon lps tank. Im seriously thinking of selling or trading in my lps and putting a more exotic strain of bta to work with in the lps tank.

Thank you! And what levels do you aim for regards Ca/Alk/Mg? I realize you don't need to test much at all now, but I'm guessing at one earlier point you had to do some periodic testing and tweaking and had a goal range in mind?

I have been relying completely on water changes (large ones, like 80% weekly) to maintain levels instead of dosing and testing/calibrating. Clearly I need to do a bit more testing to make sure that those levels are being maintained satisfactorily (though the math shows they should converge to very stable levels provided the uptake doesn't increase much over time).

Alk is usually 8, calcium is generally 420, and I dont test for Mg. I am pretty sure my weekly water changes keep the parameters where i want.

What are you keeping in your tank.
