Folks,

I'm guessing this is an anemone of some sort, but looking for positive ID. Hitchhiker on some live rock. Reef safe?

Thanks!

How big is this thing? Blow it off when you get home and take a good white pic.

Agree on Mini Max carpet
The Mini Carpet anemone can sting like other anemones and Rhodactis mushrooms, but it is not an aggressive anemone. Its small size and easy care makes it perfect for beginners and nano-tank owners. Mini Carpets are not known to act as a host to clownfish.
Mini Carpet Anemones require a tank with strong lighting and good water movement. The aquarium should have a variety of sandy and rocky locations as this anemone can move around seeking a place in tank that it prefers. Once settled into a preferred location, these anemones normally stay put.
When healthy, this anemone is very sticky to the touch, and when they grasp something or even someone, it is difficult to convince it to let go without causing damage to the carpet. It is also one of the few anemones that can cause a severe reaction in humans, so exercise caution in handling.
