Yesterday morning and this morning shortly after lights on it opened up more and tentacles started to enlarge a little. Hoping this progresses.

I’m hoping the coloration comes back. This it what it looked like the day I got it in November. Under 2 blue+ and 2 coral+ t5’s. The Qt has 1 actinic

Kinda just been status quo. I think I’m gonna switch back to the bactrim and see what happens. Tentacles aren’t filling anymore than pics above and not extending. But it’s opening and closing like normal. Some “slime” like stuff has been coming off a little each day like shedding or something.

I need to go back and read up on the process again. I’ll be at 7 days soon.

So it’s been status quo. I’m not sure what to do. Based on @OrionN scoring I think it’s a 1. Overall smaller than when it first arrived and opened back in November but to me foot seems ok, it opens and responsive to touch, lighting and shortened tentacles. If tentacles extended, filled I would say it’s perfect. So I’m not sure if part of that is antibiotics, bacteria still or lighting? I just have an actinic on the QT. They were fine with the coral and blue + bulbs on the DT so I’d think the actinic should be ok as well. ‍There is some discharge every day.

only thing is twice in past week it did stay with no water change for 36-48hrs. Had no way to get it done. Aside from that new water daily.

past two nights I’ve been doing 1 pill cipro and 400mg of the other stuff recommended.

I didn’t take a pic last night but this is how it’s been

Pics I just took. You can see some discharge on acclimation box.

He doesnt look horrible. Skipping a day may have thrown off treatment. Can you do the extra days to make it the full treatment?

yes I can do extra. Should they fully extend even with the medication?

It will take him time to regrow the lost tentacles. He does look ok i just think he should have stopped discharging mucus by now.
I would finish the meds out and acclimate to the display.

thanks. I opted to do double dose of cipro last night. I’ll probably continue that a few days. The discharge, I assume that’s exterior and interior? Seemed almost like exterior film/shedding for the most part

Your anemone is no longer infected. High dose Cipro is toxic to the animal and to the zooxanthellae. I would stop treating him and get him to the DT where he can get the best of condition. He just need TLC now.

I too would change to fresh water withou antibiotic and fine him more light and hope for the best. Too much antibiotic is never good for any animal, including human.

Double.dose may have caused this. Can u get him in new water...

@OrionN I ended up changing half the water and seemed to be doing better but closed up. Then put him in DT once temps matched. This morning was open. I’m going to try direct feeding later today. Still in acclimation box. I guess I’ll have to put food at its mouth since tentacles aren’t extending to grab food.

Fed it tonight. Tentacles are so short right now it can’t grab and pull food in so I placed right on mouth. Couple small pieces of homemade food and ate it right up. Hopefully it helps with recovery. Might considering feeding it more often than usually. Just a little food at a time.

Don't feed it until it is well. Feeding sick anemone will cause it to be sicker. Hopefully your anemone is well enough and not regurgitate the food later.

how do I know when it’s well? Or at what point do you consider it well? All tentacles back and fully extended? Or just some showing more extension?
