Anemone question

Hello!
I’ve been a reefer for 1 year and have learned so much from this forum. I have a 30 gal tank. My anemone moved last night to a new spot and looks like a taco! He seems healthy. I feed him 1 feeder fish a week and yesterday was his day. Should I do anything with the stuff that’s on the outside of its body or just leave it? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would leave it there. The little white dots on the underside of a long tentacle anemone it uses to grab onto stuff for stability.

let it take its course but generally when they move, its due to too much flow or lighting- too much light and they hide. Too little light and they move to brighter location. Anemone itself looks good

Welcome. I agree with all above about just leaving it be.

In addition, due to feeding, it may just want a better place with a little more flow to aid in moving the “poo” away from it when it does expel waste. This is common with nems that are fed. As they grow, they may need to move to have more room and more flow to aid in removing the waste.

Agree the moving is not a big deal. Don't go too large with the food. I usually let mine just catch mysis as I feed the fish.

It depends on the anemone. In the case of LTAs, I would not recommend multiples. They can already grow to upwards of a foot. That's plenty of anemone for most people. On the other hand, many people with BTAs keep several, and some who keep RFAs have dozens. Here is a chart to determine what anemones can generally be in the same tank with minimized chemical warfare or stinging. I hope that this helps!

This. Make sure they're compatible. I have a BTA that's around 12" across. Takes up a lot of room
